Session 1: New gr 11 & 12 Physical Education and Health Education Curriculum
Presenter: Grant McManes
Do you have questions about the new curriculum being implemented in September 2008?  Come and get a general overview as well as learn about the differences between in the in-school and out-of-school components.

Session 4: Fitness Technology: An Introduction to Heart Rate Monitors
Presenters: Jody O’Brien and Shane Smith
Learn about the benefits of and how to use heart rate monitors in class and for personal fitness. BE PREPARED TO GET ACTIVE!!

Learn about how kids can become involved in drug use and what signs to look for from parents who lost their child to crystal meth use.

Session 5: Online Trends and Internet Safety
Presenter: Alison Palmer
Are you concerned about your child’s safety when they’re online? Learn about the online risks as well as get an overview of sexual exploitation.  Learn how to protect you child.

Session 3: Sleep Apnea
Presenter: Audrey Lehn
Learn how to diagnose and treat Obstructive Sleep Apnea so that you can lead a healthier, more rested life.

Session 6: Get up and Move!
Presenters: Natalie Girard and Jennifer Rothwell
Learn some fun games to play in small areas and with limited equipment needed.  Come prepared to dance, do yoga, and play some low-organized games.

Session 7: Boot Camp Circuit
Presenter: Chris Brown
The boot camp circuit combines cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength and endurance, speed, agility, and balance in one active, energizing workout.

This session will take place at Lincoln February 7 at 7:00pm
Session 8: Concussion-symptoms, implications, and prevention strategies
Pediatric neurosurgeon, Dr. Patrick McDonald will provide an overview of the concussions, from symptoms, consequences, and prevention strategies that are recommended.

Session 9: Goalie Wall Ball
Presenter: Tony Szarkiewicz, Kerry Starkell, Dustin Vosper
Come out and play this new low organized game that promotes fitness, manipulation, eye-hand coordination and goal tending skills.  It's easy to learn and a lot of fun.  Bring your gym equipment to this session!

Session 10: Family Speed Stacks Night
Presenter: Chris Spradbrow
Are you up for the challenge?  Kids and parents come and learn the basics of Speed Stacking from Crestview's Leadership Kids.  We will end the night with a competition to see who will be the champions...the parents or the kids?

This session will take place at Crestview in the gym January 23 for (K-2) as well as another session offered at the same location January 24 (3-5)
Both sessions are from 6:30-7:30pm  
Session 11: Involving Your Child in Healthy Food Preparation
Presenter: Lakewood Healthy Living Committee
Learn to prepare a variety of quick and easy ways to prepare nutritious meals for the entire family.  Gain tips on how to connect your child to the preparation process.  There will be interactive food sampling as well as recipes that will be made available.  The night will end with the children playing a game in the gym while parents can observe and relax with a coffee.

Session 12: How Healthy are Your Bones?
Presenter: Lori DePauw
Adolescense is the peak bone building years.  Building healthy, strong bones is the best way to prevent fractures later in life. Information on nutrition, exercise and healthy lifestyle choices is presented in an interactive session.

This session will take place at Golden Gate February 11 at 7:00
Session 13: Dying to be Thin: Exploring a true story about the world of Eating Disorders, body image and self-esteem
Presenter: Patricia Cox
This session will be an oral presentation that takes the audience along as we follow the timeline of how an eating disorder can start, take over a life quietly and quickly.  This is a session where people can hear about the reality of life with an eating disorder, not just the symptoms or cures.  Don't be afraid to ask the real questions you want to know and discover the truths about eating disorders.  
This session will take place at George Waters, February 6 at 7:00 in room 9
